What is it?

6 x 30 minute seated and mat based Pilates sessions delivered live online or online on demand.

This 6 week course is designed to improve the strength and flexibility of the muscles that support the back, including the abdominals, aiming to also mobilise and lengthen them. Through increased mobility and stronger muscles it also aims to improve quality of life and reduce pain levels.

The course is progressive week one starts very basic and from there each week the exercises are gradually built up.

With one video session per week, access to the back care programme cards and access to the VFJ Pilates How To... instructional videos you have the tools to repeat each session again at a time and date that suits you.

What do I need?

Live online - You will need zoom downloaded on your device. The class will be standing,seated or lying so you need space to stand and lie down. A mat if you have it but it's not essential. A sturdy chair. A yoga strap, belt or scarf. A yoga block or small firm cushion. Chill-out music in the background if you wish.

Please make sure you have consulted with your doctor prior to participating in any form of exercise, have a safe space to exercise in and are well enough to complete the session.

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for anyone with stiffness, tightness or weakness in their back. Anyone wanting to improve core strength and posture. Anyone wanting to move more, exercise and de-stress.

Who is it not for?

This course is not intended for anyone with a diagnosed back/spine condition.

Anyone who has any condition that is prohibitive to exercise without prior medical authorisation.

Please ensure you have filled out the health questionnaire prior to the start of the first session. Access to the questionnaire is through the VFJ Pilates website.
