About Me

I have been dancing Ballet, Tap and Jazz since the age of 7 and helping out in classes as a student teacher since around the age of 15 and I am now a qualified IDTA Ballet and Tap teacher.

With a strong history in dance I have always been interested in fitness in particular anything that complements my love of Ballet.  After reading Darcey Bussell’s 'Pilates for Life' and 'Dance Body Workout' books I set my sights on becoming a Pilates instructor, with this in mind I undertook my group fitness exam (ETM) in 2007 and Gym Instructor in 2009.

I have been working in the fitness industry teaching classes since late 2008, soon after I took my first steps towards becoming a Pilates instructor by completing a two day workshop in Fitness Pilates by Choreography to Go.  This enabled me to teach classes as Fitness Pilates – a class inspired by Joseph Pilates mat work but adapted for a group fitness class.  In 2009 I enrolled on an NVQ level 3 Pilates course and began teaching full time gaining my certificate in 2010.

I have an interest in all forms of exercise and fitness especially the ‘mind, body and soul’ side of the industry such as barre fitness, meditation, stretching and have recently begun a Level 4 Pilates course.  I currently teach I.D.T.A. ballet and tap and deliver Pilates classes and 1-2-1 sessions.
