Because the way we treat ourselves sets the tone for everything else.
Kindness is often something we offer freely to others, but how often do we give ourselves that same care? September is Practice Kindness Month, and it is a wonderful time to reflect on how we speak to ourselves, support our own wellbeing, and give ourselves permission to pause.

Self-Talk Shapes Everything
The way we speak to ourselves matters. Would you say those same words to a friend? Taking time to notice your inner voice can be the first step towards a gentler, more supportive mindset. Be proud of your effort. Celebrate small wins. Let yourself be a beginner.
Rest Is Not a Reward
We often push through until we crash, but rest is not something we have to earn. Giving yourself space to breathe, even five minutes between tasks, is a simple act of kindness. It is not lazy to slow down. It is essential.
Support That Feels Good
Movement, rest, food, connection, nature, these are all ways we can care for ourselves. At VFJ Pilates, we encourage you to move in ways that feel kind to your body, not punishing. You do not have to go hard to get benefits. Show up gently, and that is more than enough.
